Foundations in Orthobiologics

This introductory lab gives physicians a practical foundation for incorporating orthobiologics into clinical practice. Participants review biologic treatment options, core image-guidance concepts, current evidence, terminology and clinical decision-making so they are prepared to get more from advanced IOF education.

Fundamental Ultrasound of the Shoulder and Elbow

Designed for physicians building a basic understanding of musculoskeletal ultrasound, this course focuses on shoulder and elbow anatomy, ultrasound terminology, image acquisition and accurate identification of structures before progressing to image-guided injection techniques.

Fundamental Ultrasound of the Hip and Knee

This preparatory course develops core musculoskeletal ultrasound skills for the hip and knee. Participants learn relevant anatomy, image-guidance terminology and structure identification as a foundation for intermediate and advanced orthobiologic injection training.

Hip & Knee Orthobiologic Injection Technique

For physicians with foundational image-guided injection experience who are ready to become more proficient treating the hip and knee. The lab combines diagnostic ultrasound with hands-on injection training across key intra-articular, tendon, capsular and periarticular targets.

Shoulder & Elbow Orthobiologic Injection Technique

For physicians who understand basic image-guided injections and want to advance shoulder and elbow technique. The course combines diagnostic ultrasound with supervised injections of key joints, tendons and periarticular structures.

Spine Orthobiologic Injection Technique

This hands-on spinal injection course blends image-guided technique with a focused review of anatomy and procedural strategy. Training includes spinal ligaments, facets, multifidi and epidural approaches under direct instructor supervision.

BMA / Adipose Harvesting Techniques

Designed for physicians who already understand basic orthobiologics and image guidance, this lab builds practical skills for harvesting bone marrow aspirate and adipose tissue for use in biologic treatment protocols.

Shoulder & Elbow Orthobiologic Injection Technique*

Building on the intermediate shoulder and elbow curriculum, this lab focuses on more complex targets such as shoulder ligaments, nerve blocks, intraosseous procedures, distal biceps insertion and elbow ligament structures.

Hip & Knee Orthobiologic Injection Technique*

This advanced lab builds on intermediate hip and knee injection training and adds higher-complexity procedures involving nerve blocks, tendons, ligaments, meniscal targets and osseous augmentation techniques.

Wrist, Hand, Ankle & Foot Orthobiologic Injection Technique*

For physicians ready to progress beyond intermediate small-joint procedures, this course covers advanced wrist, hand, ankle and foot targets including ligaments, nerve procedures, tendon structures and selected bone augmentation techniques.

Spine Intradiscal, Facets & Spinal Ligaments Orthobiologic Injection Technique*

This advanced one-day spine course is designed for physicians with substantial spinal injection experience. Training covers intradiscal procedures, facets, SI joint and ligaments, multifidus, supraspinous/interspinous ligaments, iliolumbar ligaments and epidural techniques using ultrasound and fluoroscopy.

Lower Extremity Nerve Lab

An expert-level lab for IOF members who have completed the broader curriculum and want to advance procedural skills for the evaluation and treatment of lower-extremity neuropathic conditions.

Intraosseous Orthobiologic Injection Technique

This advanced hands-on lab is for physicians who want to refine intraosseous injection technique under expert instruction. Participants practice precision procedures using image guidance, including ultrasound and fluoroscopy where applicable.
