Meet Dr. Christopher Williams of Interventional Orthopedics of Atlanta

Dr. Williams is the Founder of Interventional Orthopedics of Atlanta, and is committed to transforming orthopedic care as a leader in the field of regenerative medicine, publishing nine papers with the National Institutes of Health so far in 2019. In addition to his love for medicine, he is also passionate about health, fitness, and his family. He is writing a textbook on Interventional Orthopedics and is a best selling author on Amazon for his book Exercise 2.0.
Dr. Williams was recently named to the Emory Alumni list of 40 Under 40.
IOF: Who are your biggest mentors in regenerative medicine & why?
Dr. Williams: I have been fortunate to walk in the shadows of many of the giants in the field of regenerative medicine. Dr. Centeno, Dr. Schultz, and Dr. Pitts have been pivotal for the advancement of the field and completing a one year fellowship at the Centeno-Schultz Clinic in the field of Interventional Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine prepared me well for working in a continually evolving field. Working with Dr. Mautner at Emory while in residency was great as well in addition to having his continued support since I opened my practice in Atlanta.
IOF: What do you treat most frequently with regenerative medicine?
Dr. Williams: Thankfully, I have had excellent training from my time at Emory and my fellowship in Colorado, I can treat everything from upper cervical instability and inject the C0-C1 joints in the neck all the way down to nerve hydrodissections in the foot.
IOF: What do you like the best about the IOF conference?
Dr. Williams: The IOF conference is not only an amazing conference but is a necessary conference and is extremely important since the regulatory landscape is changing in the United States relating to regenerative medicine. The conference is phenomenal and a great opportunity to hear the latest procedural technique advances and orthobiologic research updates from the leaders in the field.
